The Broken God Machine

Posted on September 12th, 2010 by chris

The metal thing has kept a grim vigil within its blasted circle of bone for more than ten thousand years, and those who cross the boundaries of that ring can expect only death. Standing as God to a cracked and broken people, it waits for the one who holds within him the key that can unlock the miracles of the land beyond.

Pehr lives with his family in their village by the sea, far removed from the metal thing and its worshipers. He is sixteen, fit and strong, nearly ready to take the Hunter’s Test and become a man. All he has ever known exists on this small strip of land, trapped between the churning sea on one side and the deadly jungle on the other.

When the vile creatures known as Lagos descend upon his village, Pehr’s world is shattered, his family destroyed, and his life thrown into chaos. What begins as a simple attempt to rescue his cousin becomes instead a journey that will change him forever. Somewhere, past the jungle and through the mountains, a girl with purple eyes stands upon the vast plains of her land. She is searching for him, and when at last they meet, the choices they make will bring the entire human race salvation … or destruction.

High above them both, the metal thing awaits.

The Blood that Bonds is an excellent book! I am very picky too so please take it for granted that this book delivers. Usually within the first chapter I will either dump the book or want to reread it over. This is a great book and I can’t wait for the next installment!

Any chance you are looking for proof readers? I would love to read any of your work after reading TBTB’s. Thank you.

This seems a different direction from the IIAM trilogy. I have bought book 3 but not yet read it. I look forward to this new series and would like to offer to proof read if you need English proof readers

Read all three books-excellent. Hated to reach the end of each book. Would make a great movie. Move over Twilight.

O.M.G. Another year ’till we get to read this. Perhaps web designing should now be your part time job Christopher. You have so many fans out here waiting with baited breath that I am sure some of us will suffocate before publication

Madeline – there may be further books in my vampire universe, but Two and Theroen won’t be the main characters. Their story is told.

Allan – unfortunately, web design pays me about 4x what writing was paying me even at the absolute peak (first three months of Blood Hunt sales). Can’t give up the day job just yet.

So long as after the bills have been paid you still feel inclined to put pen to paper(metaphorically speaking) I will still be buying your books. You have unwittingly converted/broadened my reading outlook. I used to stick to “adventure” books of the Lee Child, Chris Ryan, Vince Flynn genre. My eyes have been opened! I now look at other authors in the vampire genre. One of my other authors Scott Mariani started a series of vampire related novels only to have his publishers pull the plug after the second book leaving all his fans gutted.
Cheers Christopher, Keep up with the hard work of writing.

Congratulations on 3 really good reads! I was mesmerized by each; the trilogy SHOULD be made into a movie! Sure wish I knew someone for you. Keep writing – I’ll keep reading.

Absolutely loved the blood that bonds trilogy. It should be made into film. Please write a fourth, the story is still incomplete.

chrisFebruary 12th, 2013 at 5:22 pm

Hmm … sorry, but I consider the story complete. There may well be future books set in Two’s universe, but there won’t be any more that star any of the major characters from the trilogy.

michelleFebruary 24th, 2013 at 11:00 pm

Loved all 3. I think it needs a 4th and final book to finish the story of Tori….Great series either way!

Loved the II AM trilogy, still haven’t finished TCTS yet but will soon. The Broken God Machine sounds like a good read. Can’t wait to see what’s in store in this new one.

I loved the II am books. An amazing read that offered a fresh and interesting veiw of vampire’s and thier world. Two wasn’t my favourite character so I’m not sad to see that this is the end of her story. This world has been filled with many interesting idea’s and possibilties that I will look forward to any stories that come from it.
Keep up the good work and if this is turned into a film dont let them water it down and make it into something without any teeth. This story deserves better.

Just re-read Two’s story again. I love Two so much and also Tori. Would love to read more about them in the future. Can’t wait for The Broken God Machine.
