Do you have a rough date for The Children of the Sun? I just random came across the first 2 books and read them in 3 days, I would like to know how it all ends. Please!
P.S. Keep up the good work.

I do, actually. I’ve scheduled it for the Holiday season of 2012, so November-ish next year. I’m going to try to push it out faster than that, though!

I am a fan of vampire novels. I came across The Blood that Bonds and downloaded it months ago..I finally had time to read it and I couldn’t put it down..I LOVED The Blood that Bonds, and had to get Blood Hunt immediately! I am hooked !!! Cannot wait to read the next book :)

NikkiSeptember 24th, 2011 at 3:44 am

I am so very excited for number 3 to come out. I have fallen in love with so many characters and was unable to put your books down. I of course fell for Two in TBTB but also Tori and was very sad to see what happened to both of them in BH. In the end it worked out for Two but I fell for Naomi and was so upset for her. I truly lover her character and hope to see her again I find her very interesting. Anyway I wanted to say I LOVE your work (I am a very picky reader) I hope the next one will be out sooner rather than later.

heatherSeptember 24th, 2011 at 11:39 am

Chris your books are absolutely brilliant! I love Urban Fantasy style books and really enjoyed yours. I’m a big fan of Twilight and True Blood of course but I have to say I was taken aback when I read these! You really put a lot of effort into these. I’m sure anyone would agree! Keep up the good work and good luck on Children of the Sun! I hope to see it published soon!!! By the way do you have any estimate on when it might be out? I signed up for the news letter but the anticipations eating away!! lol LOVE YOUR WORK!!!

Please quit reading your blog comments and write faster, LOL! I just read the first two and am ready to continue!

chrisOctober 31st, 2011 at 10:26 pm

You know, it’s funny … it’s not so much the speed of writing. It’s that after a certain amount your brain is just like “I got no more today.” Some days it’s got 2500 words, some days it’s only got 500, and it doesn’t seem to matter how long I sit in front of the word processor or how fast I can type.

Fortunately, it’s been closer to 2500 a day lately. :)

tina leeNovember 1st, 2011 at 1:22 pm

I love your books and can not wait until the next one comes out. Even with Blood Hunt being longer, I could have still read more. I know we (the readers) are never satisfied, but that just shows what a great writer you are. Thank you for the books and can’t wait for the next one to come out.

TheGoodbyeGirlNovember 2nd, 2011 at 5:40 pm

Read both books, loved them both, cant wait for book 3 to come out, I am hoping Tori features heavily and that something good happens to her, I wont name names but I was soo sad when a character died in Blood Hunt they were really fun, but I am sure you have many more engaging character for us to love/hate/enjoy! Once I know you have a set publishing date for Children of the Sun I shall re-read The Blood that Bonds and Blood Hunt again to reacquaint myself with Two again.

brandyJanuary 22nd, 2012 at 10:15 pm

Blood Hunt was the only non-classic literature book I have ever paid for. I am traumatized that we have to wait till the end of the year for the third book! Ohwell, I am getting married in October and going on our honeymoon at the beach in December so hopefully I can bring it to read then??

Great characters. I definitely fell in love with Theroen and felt Two’s loss throughout the second book..

Thank you for being an accessible author who keeps us updated!

KerryFebruary 10th, 2012 at 8:15 am

Bought a NOOK last week and read one of the free books on it, TBTB… tonight, I finished Blood Hunt and wish I had dragged it out a little longer… I can’t wait until the final book is out… Although I would have never considered myself a vampire fan, I must say, those two books so far were great reads… really hard to put them down!

Hey Chris (hope it is ok to call you Chris), thanks so much for the heads-up on BHs release. I bought it as soon as I got your email. The part where II and Theroen make out was (IMHO) a tad graphic. Amazing book can’t wait for Children of the Sun to come out. You are an amazing writer.

*** SPOILERS ***

Wow wow wow!… Ive just read both books, and finished the second one literally an hour or so ago. I am completely in love with the whole story and the characters.

The first book was brilliant, I got it a few weeks ago for my kindle, ready to read after I finished a previous book. And I cant even remember what book it was now, after having read The Blood That Bonds, and Blood Hunt.

The first book was fantastic, even though it was shorter than the second, it had good purpose to be, it captured Two and Theoron’s connection beautifully. The way in which Two’s feelings for Theoron was written, I cant explain how it made me feel when I read it. I feel so apart of the book and story, is saddens me when I finished the book. And when Theoron died, I felt as lost as Two did. I felt emotion every time Two did, when Mellisa died, when Abraham was killed…the book just reaches out. The Bloood that Bonds set up Blood Hunt perfectly.

I cant even explain how amazing the second book was!

People stated how they though Tori should have been more involved in this book, but I think she was involved just enough. She was involved enough to allow us to understand what was happening to her. Its obvious she is going to be well used in The children of the Sun.

But the whole book, contains so much! Love, lust, despair, action, sorrow, pain, everything. I cant help but feel so sorry for Naomi, and what became of her and Two’s relationship, even though I was ecstatic to see Theoron be brought back and to complete Two again, I really was rooting for her and Two. Each character involved, had their own story and personality, Stephen was a great example, I was so upset with him being killed, and revealing his true feelings for Naomi. And all the other characters was great as well!

I could go on and on about how brilliant I thought the books were, but I have to stop, because Ive typed too much already.

Basically I loved the books and cant wait for the third one! I can tell its going to be great! But Im going to be so disappointed it will be the last in the trilogy. Itwill be the end of the vampire world and the last of Two and her story…I need November to be here now! Ps. Sorry for such a long comment, I couldnt help but express what I thought, Thanks Chris!

It is strange. Last night I sat and did my writing practice. It’s like sketching or doodling (which I need to do more of.. >.< ) but I started out with this little girl, and it turned into molly, several years after blood hunt. for such a small character I always adored her. I tossed that away because she isn't my character, but I was wondering… Do we see Molly in the next book?

chrisMarch 11th, 2012 at 11:19 pm

Sara – Molly has a smaller part in TCotS than she did in Blood Hunt (as do Rhes and Sarah), but she DOES show up. :)

LesleyMarch 20th, 2012 at 11:51 am

I nearly didn’t download TBTB even though it was free because of the picture on the cover! Then I left it on the kindle for ages figuring that any book with the horrible face on would be no good. Then when I was ill and in bed I read it – WOW. What’s the saying don’t judge a book by its cover. I loved it and downloaded the second book I read them both in 2 days. I will be honest and say I found the name ‘Two’ hard to read but I loved the story it is well written and exciting I can’t wait for the 3rd book. But November!!!!!!

chrisMarch 20th, 2012 at 12:08 pm

Lesley – A small but dedicated group of my readers absolutely HATE the cover for The Blood That Bonds. Perhaps I should consider releasing an edition with a new cover!

Felicity (yes it is my real name) KnowlesMarch 24th, 2012 at 3:28 am

I have to admit one of the reasons The Blood that Bonds sat on my nook for 6 months without being read was the cover I downloaded it decided against starting it and forgot I had it. I am ashamed to admit that, I feel so superficial and was disappointed in myself because I know better but I’m happy to say once I read a few reviews I decided to make myself start reading it. I was not disappointed. I’m superstitious and never start a book I don’t finish, (even if it is horrid), I think part of the reason is I keep hoping it will get better but also because I’m afraid if I don’t finish it I wont have very good luck finding something wonderful to read for a very long time and since becoming disabled books take up a huge part of my life I’ve learned to take the good with the bad. The first two books in this series were both so easy to read 36 hours after starting Bond I find myself here looking for book number 3 wishing I was one of your trusted reviewers. Thank you for sharing your gift. I’ll be hoping to see The Children of the Sun soon.

Felicity (yes it is my real name) KnowlesMarch 24th, 2012 at 11:49 am

P.S. I was reading the other comments here and saw many comparisons between your work and the Twilight series and I have to disagree but I do offer up another I feel your writing is comparable to and that is Anne Rice, (before she re-found Jesus). There is a certain sophistication that your work has and Stephanie Meyer doesn’t and that is true for all her books although she attempts the eventual maturation of her characters I’ve always thought of Edward as a bit of a dirty old man, every pedophiles dream come true to be trapped in the body of a young man in order to troll high schools for love. Sorry Edward fans. I’ll still be dreaming of being one of your reviewers and hope to see The Children of the Sun by my B-day Nov 2nd.

Alex WilsonMarch 27th, 2012 at 4:46 am

I recently bought a kindle and just happened to download the first book. Quite honestly I couldn’t put it down. On completion I simply had to get the second book which was even better in my view. I have just read the two chapters available on Children of the Sun and can’t believe how improved the writing has become. I can’t wait to read the whole book as soon as it becomes available. I am very impressed with this work and hope that many more books will be forth coming. Thank you again for the enjoyment these books gives me.

Stephanie GreenApril 18th, 2012 at 11:17 am

I also LOVED the first book! I was impatiently awaiting this second book, but then I started blogging and reviewing books given to me, so I lost track of when some of my faves were coming out! I just realized that Blood Hunt was out! I’m soo excited to read it! I have now signed up for your newsletter.. Keep up the great work and I’ll send you a link to my review as soon as I’m able to read it and get it published! Can’t wait!!
