The Children of the Sun is the third and final book in the IIam trilogy, wrapping up the story started by The Blood That Bonds. It is currently scheduled for release during the Holiday Season (November-ish) of 2012, but the timing may change.
The Children of the Sun section of iiamtrilogy.com will be changing and updating over the coming year, as more information about the book is revealed.
Warning: the following summary contains numerous spoilers for The Blood That Bonds and Blood Hunt.
It’s been more than two years since Two Majors was reunited with her lover and became again a full part of the vampire world. No longer an Eresh, exactly, she is instead something new: Theroen-Chen. She spends her time now training in combat arts, enjoying her life with Theroen, and working with the American council of vampires. Even the mysterious cult of vampires, The Children of the Sun, who kidnapped her friend Tori and turned her into an agent of destruction, have gone oddly silent. Life is perfect, or as close to it as life usually gets. At least, that’s how it seems.
When the Children of the Sun attack a trio of Dutch vampires and declare war on the vampire world, Two’s life is plunged once again into chaos and darkness.

I do, actually. I’ve scheduled it for the Holiday season of 2012, so November-ish next year. I’m going to try to push it out faster than that, though!

I am so very excited for number 3 to come out. I have fallen in love with so many characters and was unable to put your books down. I of course fell for Two in TBTB but also Tori and was very sad to see what happened to both of them in BH. In the end it worked out for Two but I fell for Naomi and was so upset for her. I truly lover her character and hope to see her again I find her very interesting. Anyway I wanted to say I LOVE your work (I am a very picky reader) I hope the next one will be out sooner rather than later.

Chris your books are absolutely brilliant! I love Urban Fantasy style books and really enjoyed yours. I’m a big fan of Twilight and True Blood of course but I have to say I was taken aback when I read these! You really put a lot of effort into these. I’m sure anyone would agree! Keep up the good work and good luck on Children of the Sun! I hope to see it published soon!!! By the way do you have any estimate on when it might be out? I signed up for the news letter but the anticipations eating away!! lol LOVE YOUR WORK!!!

You know, it’s funny … it’s not so much the speed of writing. It’s that after a certain amount your brain is just like “I got no more today.” Some days it’s got 2500 words, some days it’s only got 500, and it doesn’t seem to matter how long I sit in front of the word processor or how fast I can type.
Fortunately, it’s been closer to 2500 a day lately. :)
tina lee • November 1st, 2011 at 1:22 pm
I love your books and can not wait until the next one comes out. Even with Blood Hunt being longer, I could have still read more. I know we (the readers) are never satisfied, but that just shows what a great writer you are. Thank you for the books and can’t wait for the next one to come out.
TheGoodbyeGirl • November 2nd, 2011 at 5:40 pm
Read both books, loved them both, cant wait for book 3 to come out, I am hoping Tori features heavily and that something good happens to her, I wont name names but I was soo sad when a character died in Blood Hunt they were really fun, but I am sure you have many more engaging character for us to love/hate/enjoy! Once I know you have a set publishing date for Children of the Sun I shall re-read The Blood that Bonds and Blood Hunt again to reacquaint myself with Two again.

Blood Hunt was the only non-classic literature book I have ever paid for. I am traumatized that we have to wait till the end of the year for the third book! Ohwell, I am getting married in October and going on our honeymoon at the beach in December so hopefully I can bring it to read then??
Great characters. I definitely fell in love with Theroen and felt Two’s loss throughout the second book..
Thank you for being an accessible author who keeps us updated!

Bought a NOOK last week and read one of the free books on it, TBTB… tonight, I finished Blood Hunt and wish I had dragged it out a little longer… I can’t wait until the final book is out… Although I would have never considered myself a vampire fan, I must say, those two books so far were great reads… really hard to put them down!

Hey Chris (hope it is ok to call you Chris), thanks so much for the heads-up on BHs release. I bought it as soon as I got your email. The part where II and Theroen make out was (IMHO) a tad graphic. Amazing book can’t wait for Children of the Sun to come out. You are an amazing writer.
